Born May 28, 1970, Craig Cohen, President and Senior Systems Engineer, is a second generation Technical Specialist. HCS Technology Group was brought to life in October1982. Since then, the company has grown to more than 20 employees, five locations and contractors worldwide, with a management team that represents some of the most experienced technology professionals in the industry.

Jay Soodek
Senior Systems Engineer
Born August 3, 1962, Jay's 1st career was that of a classical musician. Trained at the Juilliard School, he somehow wound up working for Citibank. There he was part of the rollout team for Apple products. When he left banking in the early '90s, he became the Systems Director for a marketing company in Westport, CT. While he was there he hired the HCS Technology Group to help implement a FileMaker and an Email project. One thing lead to another and now for the past 12 years, Jay has run the Connecticut division of HCS Technology Group.

Sam Valencia
Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Training Specialist
Sam Valencia began his Information Technology career 10 years ago in the world of Windows. While coming across more scenarios involving the Macintosh platform, he decided to make the switch and acquired certifications from Apple beginning with desktop support and moving on to server level support. Today, Sam is a Certified Trainer for Apple. He travels the country teaching classes, assisting other technicians in honing their skills using a mixture of hands on training and real world scenarios from his past experiences in the field. Sam also holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut. When not teaching, his client focus is small to medium business scenarios with a focus on graphics and marketing in the greater New York Metropolitan area. Areas of expertise are network management, software/hardware upgrades, and product trainings.

Joan Work
Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Training Specialist
Joan Work has a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Stony Brook and brings HCS Training Centers over 20 years of microcomputer support experience. She has worked as a computer systems consultant for ComputerLand, The Computer Factory, and PWR Systems. In addition, Joan was extremely successful as a computer retail store manager for The Computer Factory bringing in some of the highest store performances while she managed. After taking some time off from the computer world to raise her 2 children, Joan returned to HCS in January 2004. While Joan specializes in desktop support, she also trains our clients on Microsoft Office products and Intro to Macintosh OS 10.

John C. Daugherty
Systems Engineer
Born June 8, 1972, John Daugherty began his Technology career almost 8 years ago, obtaining his Electrical Engineering degree in 2001. After college, John worked in a development laboratory for a valve actuation company in Houston, Texas. Looking for a different career path, John found himself working almost exclusively with Apple computers through CD Home Automation. Enjoying the automation work greatly, but desiring a bit more challenge, he obtained certifications from Apple and began his career with HCS Technology Group in 2007.

Richard Goon
Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Training Specialist
Born on June 6, 1966 to Chinese immigrants, Richard Goon has worked as a Graphic Artist for Companies such as Guinan Publishing, J & B Advertising, as well as Harman International Companies: JBL Consumer Speakers, Harman/Kardon and Infinity Speakers. While at Harman, he made the transition from Graphic Arts to Apple Macintosh MIS with the guidance of HCS Training Centers. Richard joined HCS midyear of 1996 to enhance his education as well as becoming an Apple consultant. Richard specializes in Font Management, Backup Systems, and Graphic Arts software.

David Doscher
Senior Systems Engineer/Developer & Programmer/Technical Training Specialist
David Doscher began his career as a Graphic Artist working for advertising agencies, newspapers and magazines before forming his own agency in 1985. As personal computers began to revolutionize the graphics industry, technology management gradually became a more integral part of Mr. Doscher's career.
Today, with comprehensive knowledge and experience in programming, data modeling, network infrastructure and web integration, David heads up the Digital Asset Management services of HCS Technology Group. As the integrator for these services, David is uniquely qualified to design, present, provide and train clients to use feature-rich and highly functional software solutions for a wide variety of business needs.

Keith Mitnick
Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Training Specialist
Keith started his career as a Filemaker Pro programmer for a small printing company in 1993. His love for computers led him to a help desk position at a large advertising agency in NY where he quickly advanced to a Systems Administrator. From there, Keith went on to become an IT Director for a multi-state printing company.
Keith is currently a Senior Systems Engineer at HCS Technology Group with over 15 years in the IT industry specializing in Apple technology.

Harvey Cohen
CEO/Senior Systems Engineer/Developer & Programmer
Born August 8, 1940. Harvey has degrees from Brooklyn College and CCNY in Computer Science and Mathematics. During the early years, he was involved with IBM and Radio Shack desktop computers. Harvey wrote and developed one of the first business solutions for the TRS80 and IBM Peanut. He started with Apple Computer when they introduced the Lisa computer. Harvey was one of the original developers for Apple.
Kennedy Soo Hong
Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Training Specialist
Born November 12, 1960. Kennedy started in Graphics Arts, attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, after which he returned to New York. His first job was at Metro Creative Graphics, which lead him to Apple systems. They tested the then 512K Apples to use in the production environment. Kennedy was responsible with two others to convert the Art dept and camera dept to the digital age. He also worked at Impressions ABA, as a Designer and IT support.

Scott Franklin
Scott Franklin began programming at Miami Dade CommunityCollege and at the University of Florida over 20 years ago. Since then, he's been working with Mac and PC computers since 1986 as a computer "General Practitioner" with a particular affinity for Apple products.
Since his first certification with Apple in the 80s (IIc), he has acquired other certifications in OSX with Windows and Novel OS's thrown in for flavor.
Scott has worked as a consultant for Sheridan Square/ArtemisRecords, Google, and other prestigious firms throughout his tenure in the Northeast.
